Toledo vs Colorado

January 18th, 2010

Had the chance to attend the Toledo Rockets vs Colorado Buffalo football game in Toledo. With new head coach, Tim Beckman at the helm, the Rockets handed Colorado their second consecutive loss and their first ever at the hands of a MAC team.

Had the chance to catch another Tennessee Volunteer football game. There’s nothing quite like watching a football game in Neyland Stadium and hearing 100K+ fans singing Rocky Top…. very cool.

Another shot from the UT vs. FIU game. Shooting the telephoto from the lower seats in the Glass Bowl let me get in really close on the offensive line and QB as they set up for the next play.

Kyle Field

May 5th, 2008

Caught this shot when we visited Texas for spring break a few years back. Kyle Field sits on the campus of Texas A&M University and is “Home of the 12th Man”. As a college football fan, it was awesome to get a chance to be in the stadium and get close to where all the grid-iron action takes place. A day I’ll never forget.

Gun it out

Caught this shot in November in Knoxville, watching the Volunteers play the Vanderbilt Commodores. Ainge pushed the ball to the near side for a completion and on the very next play, went to the opposite side of the field for a score. We had a great time at this game – I can’t wait for next season and to be in Neyland again, cheering the Orange and White.

Devon Moore

This is a shot from Appalachian State’s playoff game against Eastern Washington in late 2007. Devon Moore is running the ball on this possession as Armanti Edwards, ASU’s dangerous QB, heads in the other direction. We all know the outcome – ASU came out victorious and went on to win their third straight National Championship. It’s quite a sight to watch this team firing on all cylinders. There are some big D-I schools that could afford to come take a few notes on how App. executes and apply it to their own game plans.

Appalachian State, National Champions again

December 10th, 2007

Got to attend the FCS National Championship game this week. The Mountaineers of Appalachian State battled the Blue Hens of Delaware. The energy at the game was amazing – and the town of Chattanooga was bathed in Black and Gold. ASU won the game and made history, winning it’s third straight National Championship.

The crowd poured on to the filed following the victory and we had the chance to congratulate some of the players. This is freshman defensive end, Jabari Fletcher, who was all smiles after the victory, and rightfully so. It was great to applaud the victory right to the players who made it happen. I’ve never experienced anything like that victory – the spirit and punch was amazing. AE and Richardson were amazing – and App. brought home the hardware.

Armanti Edwards

Got the chance to attend the I-AA Playoff game between the Appalachian State Mountaineers and the Eastern Washington Eagles this week. In what turned out to be a close game, AE delivered the kind of performance he’s becoming known for — throwing for nearly as many yards as he rushed. This shot is of Armanti tearing up the field – he gets stopped at the 2 yrd line and on the next play, the Mountaineers punch it in. On to the next round, ASU is on a quest for it’s third National Championship in as many years.

Go Mountaineers!
